Kelly Preston, best known for her roles in films such as Jerry Maguire, Twins, and For Love of the Game, was not only admired for her acting career but also for her long-lasting marriage to John Travolta. The actress passed away on July 12, 2020, at the age of 57 after privately battling breast cancer for two years.

Following her death, Travolta shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying that Preston had “fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.”

He thanked the doctors, nurses, friends, and family members who stood by her during her treatment and explained that he would be taking time away from the public eye to focus on their children and family.

Preston and Travolta were married for nearly 29 years. The couple met while working on the film The Experts and married in 1991. Over the years, they became known as one of Hollywood’s enduring couples.

In 2019, they celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary with touching tributes to one another on social media. Travolta called Preston his “wonderful wife,” while Preston described him as “the most wonderful man I know” and thanked him for loving her through every stage of life.

Together, the couple had three children: Jett, Ella Bleu, and Benjamin. Their eldest son, Jett, tragically died in 2009 at the age of 16 after suffering a seizure while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas.

After Preston’s passing, her family released a statement confirming that she had chosen to keep her diagnosis private while receiving treatment with the support of her closest loved ones.

They remembered her as “a bright, beautiful and loving soul” who deeply cared for others and brought warmth and life to everyone around her, while also asking for privacy during their time of grief.
