Lee Phillip Bell, co-creator of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful with her late husband William J. Bell, passed away on February 25 at the age of 91.

As a pioneer in daytime television, she shaped generations of storytelling and earned numerous accolades, including the Daytime Emmys’ Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.

Beyond television, she had a groundbreaking career in broadcast journalism, hosting The Lee Phillip Show on CBS for over 30 years.

“Our mother was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother,” her children William James Bell, Bradley Phillip Bell, and Lauralee Bell Martin said in a statement.

“Gracious and kind, she enriched the lives of all who knew her. We will miss her tremendously.”
