Veteran actor Anthony Guidera, recognized for his appearances in several notable Hollywood films throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, has died at the age of 65 following a medical emergency.

According to reports, Guidera’s wife, Valarie, confirmed that the actor collapsed at their Southern California home on May 11 after experiencing cardiac arrest. He was rushed to hospital and placed on life support, where he remained for approximately three weeks. Following his previously expressed wishes, life support was withdrawn, and Guidera passed away on June 6. Medical professionals have reportedly been unable to determine the exact cause of the cardiac arrest.

Guidera began his acting career in 1990 with a role as a bodyguard in The Godfather Part III, the final installment of director Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic crime saga starring Al Pacino. Although the role was relatively small, it marked the beginning of a career that would see him appear in several major Hollywood productions.

One of Guidera’s most recognized performances came in the 1995 science-fiction thriller Species, where he portrayed Robbie. The film gained significant attention and became one of the standout projects of his career. His on-screen chemistry with co-star Natasha Henstridge even earned the pair an MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss, a memorable achievement that remained a unique highlight of his filmography.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Guidera established himself as a reliable character actor. His credits included appearances in blockbuster films such as The Rock and Armageddon, along with various television projects. He continued working in the entertainment industry until his final screen appearance in 2005’s L.A. Dicks.
